Marching Band Start-Up Day
SCHEDULE
Registration and Instrument Check-Out – Saturday, May 13 – 7:00 AM
All students must register in the Auditorium Lobby. Students requiring the use of a school-owned instrument will be issued one for use throughout the school year and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Instrument Check-out will be in the band room (Room F-158).
Student AND Parent Meeting – MRHS Auditorium – Saturday, May 13 – 8:00 AM
This meeting is for at least one parent for each current and future student in the Marching Band. Please make arrangements to attend this very important meeting, as we will be going through the expectations of the program, the handbook, the fall rehearsal and performance schedule, procedures and information, the fall marching production, and answering questions.
Parent Social and Q&A – Saturday, May 13 – 9:00 AM
After Mr. Vogel’s meeting, stay for a parent social sponsored by the MRHS Band-Aides. Here you can meet other Band families, meet other parents in your “section,” explore opportunities to serve, and have a great time connecting with new friends!
Volunteer Training & Fingerprinting -MRHS Mini-Auditorium – Saturday, May 13 – 10:00 AM
All parents planning to serve as a volunteer must complete DVUSD Volunteer Training every three to five years.
Parents planning to chaperone overnight and/or out of state trips must be fingerprinted. We will have AZ Livescan on site at 10:30 AM to complete fingerprinting for anyone interested, but there is a cost involved ($109 to “Arizona Livescan”).
Student Sectionals and Rehearsals – Saturday, May 13 – 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Students will rehearse in “sectionals” and as a full ensemble to begin learning the the 2023 Fall Show. Lunch is proved at 11:30 AM. All students should attend! Bring your instrument. An instrument will be provided if you do not own one. Dress in workout attire (black athletic shorts/leggings and white t-shirt/top), wear athletic shoes (no jeans, flip-flops or sandals please!!), & bring water. Lunch is provided.
