Marching Band Start-Up Day
SCHEDULE
7:00 AM – MRHS Auditorium
Registration and Instrument Check-Out
All students must register & attend! Bring your instrument. Students requiring the use of a school-owned instrument will be issued one for use throughout the school year and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Dress in workout attire (black athletic shorts/leggings and white t-shirt/top), wear athletic shoes (no jeans, flip-flops or sandals!), and bring water.
8:00 AM – Student AND Parent Meeting
This is a mandatory meeting is for at least one parent for each current and future student in the Marching Band. Please make arrangements to attend this very important meeting, as we will be going through the expectations of the program, the handbook, the fall rehearsal and performance schedule, procedures and information, the fall marching production, and answering questions.
8:30 AM – Students & Parents will go to separate mandatory meetings:
Students: Meet with Mr. Malone ant the staff
Parents: Meet with Mr. Vogel and Band-Aides. This meeting will end around 10:00 am.
10:00 AM – Volunteer Training -MRHS Mini-Auditorium
All parents planning to serve as a volunteer must complete DVUSD Volunteer Training every three to five years.
10:30 AM Fingerprinting for Volunteers
Parents planning to chaperone overnight and/or out of state trips must be fingerprinted. We will have AZ Livescan on site at 10:30 AM to complete fingerprinting for anyone interested, but there is a cost involved ($109 to “Arizona Livescan”).
9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Student Sectionals and Rehearsals
Students will rehearse in “sectionals” and as a full ensemble to begin learning the the 2024 Fall Show.
Lunch is provided at 11:30 AM.
