Jeffrey Malone – Director of Bands
We are so excited to welcome Mr. Malone to Mountain Ridge as our new Director of Bands for the 2024-2025 school year!
Jeffrey Malone has served as the Director of Bands and Arts Department Chair at Peoria High School, in the Peoria Unified School District (PUSD), for the past six years. At Peoria High School, he directed the Panther Pride Marching Band, Panther Jazz Band, and Peoria High School Wind Ensemble. Under his recent direction, the Panther Band Program performed at the 2024 AMEA In-Service Conference, performed in the 2022 National Memorial Day Parade in Washington D.C., and received the William E. Richardson Program of Distinction Award, presented through the Arizona Band and Orchestra Directors Association (ABODA), for the 2021-2022 school year.
He currently serves as the ABODA Vice President of Jazz Activities and has previously served as the PUSD High School Honor Band Coordinator, as a member of the PUSD Arts Advisory Committee, and as the AMEA Central Region Band Co-Chair. Mr. Malone holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Arizona and is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Music Education through Central Washington University and the American Band College.
He resides in Glendale, AZ with his wife, Abby Malone. Mr. Malone is excited to take on new challenges and looks forward to working to continue the legacy, tradition, and excellence of the Mountain Ridge High School Band Program. Mr. Malone will officially begin as the new MRHS Band Director pending DVUSD Board approval on May 14, 2024.
